The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is found at Title 29, United States
Code, Sections 701 and following. The Rehabilitation Act prevents discrimination
against and promotes the employment of handicapped people. A handicapped
person is defined as anyone with any physical or mental impairment, which
substantially limits one, or more major live activity. The Act also applies
to individuals with a record of such impairment or who are considered
to have such impairment, regardless the present condition.
The law applies to federal government agencies and government contractors
and subcontractors.
A complaint should be filed with the employer agency and /or with the
Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs
