PALM BEACH COUNTY EQUAL EMPLOYMENT ORDINANCE
The Palm Beach County Equal Employment Ordinance is Ordinance No. 95-31. It governs all employers in Palm Beach County who have 15 or more employees for each working day in each of four or more calendar weeks in the current or preceding calendar year.
The Ordinance makes it unlawful for such employers to discriminate against an employee or applicant due to that persons race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
An employee or job applicant who is the victim of an unlawful employment practice must file a complaint with the Palm Beach County Office of Equal Opportunity ("OEO") within 180 days from the date that the act of discrimination or unlawful employment act occurred. OEO will then investigate the charge of discrimination and there may be an administrative hearing to rule on the merits of the charge.
